HOW TO GET THERE:
by car:
Use gps. Honestly.
But here is an old fashioned description:
Leave the A5 at exit 34 HIRSCHBERG and turn towards Hirschberg (that is towards the hills you will see). After about 1 km at the T-junction, turn left towards Weinheim on the B3. Just after the tram station turn right, immediately after the turn keep left and drive up Hohensachsener Straße. In Hohensachsen there is a 3-way-junction (you will be facing a mural on a bakery) turn left in the direction of Ritschweier. Drive slowly, it will be tight (but we won’t have it any other way).
Once you reach Ritschweier, the first street to the left is Bergwaldstraße, and there is a signpost for the Schulungszentrum. About half way up the hill, you’ll come to a fork in the road – bear left. And that’s it, not even 6km off the A5 but closer to paradise. If you see trees on 4 sides, you’ve gone too far.
by train:
Take the train from wherever to Hauptbahnhof Weinheim an der Bergstraße. If you want to be independent, take a taxi (should be around 20 Euro). But if you let us (Knicker Elastic and/or Lecher Magoo) know in advance we can arrange a shuttle (we have a normal car, which seats four plus the driver, we’ll sort it out).
WHAT TO BRING:
torch/flashlight bug spray (the ticks are out!) and possibly, sunscreen towels (bedsheets not needed) all the usual stuff you bring to a hash: shoes, socks, etc.
ITINARY:
Friday:
5-6pm arrival, registration, first beer (or whatever)
If you come earlier, we won’t chase you away, there will be somebody at the venue from about 3pm.
7pm walk to the Äppelwoiwertschaft “Zum Jöste Andres” in Rittenweier – about 2km. The trail will be well marked and there will be NO falsies. So even if you come later – join us. Food and drink is on you (local fare).
6pm walk to the tram station (Bahnhof Lützelsachsen) to get to the winefest (prosecco stop on the way) Winefest in Schriesheim return by shuttle taxi (details will be announced)
Sunday:
7.30-9am 10am 12noon 12.30 breakfast hangover trail circle lunch
For those of you who want MORE and are going towards Frankfurt:
2.30pm First Sunday run of the winter (WTF?!) season of Frankfurt H3 in Darmstadt (that’s halfway) with a visit to the DARMSTADT WINEFEST!
